I'm Matthew Klar - and finding a photo of me proved more difficult than I'd imagined. (I found exactly two of them - this one taken about 12 years ago in the White Mountains of Alaska and the other, on the guestbook page, was taken 2 years ago just south of Evanston WY along the Utah border.)

I currently live in northern Utah with my wife and three children and spend much of my free time hiking in the backcountry of Utah and the surrounding states. I didn't start carrying a camera regularly on these trips until about 5 years ago -- and now I wish I'd gotten serious about photography much earlier! My interests tend mostly toward landscape photography and I'm sure I'll never be able to see even all of Utah's varied geography.
